Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ
What is the TFV?
The TFV (Thuringia Football Association) is a state organization of the German Football Association (DFB). It serves as the umbrella organization for football clubs in the German state of Thuringia, covering nine football districts. Founded in 1990, its headquarters are located in Erfurt.
Why should I do the course?
There are three main reasons: education, licenses, and networking. The UEFA and DFB/TFV coaching pathway is extensive and often costly. This virtual course—offered in partnership with the TFV, a DFB member—provides a more accessible way for coaches to gain an official German state license without the need for in-person attendance.
Is this an official & acknowledged course?
Yes, it is an official and acknowledged virtual license program offered in cooperation with the State of Thuringia (TFV), a member of the DFB. However, it is not equivalent to the DFB/UEFA/TFV C or UEFA B license. Additional in-person modules and exams in Germany are required to obtain those licenses.
How many coaches can take the course?
A maximum of 50 coaches can participate at one time. Each module assignment is reviewed and approved by licensed German instructors. If the registration button is active, spots are available and you can apply.
How long does it take to complete the course?
The course takes a minimum of 8 weeks, with one module released each week. You can progress to the next module only after completing the previous assignment.
If you need to skip a week, that’s fine—but you’ll only receive your license and membership benefits after completing all modules.
Do I need coaching experience?
The course is designed for both beginners and experienced coaches.
Are the courses open to coaches outside the USA?
Yes, the course is open to coaches from anywhere in the world.
