1. FC Köln is a professional football club based in Cologne, Germany. The club, also known as the Billy Goats, was founded in 1948 and currently plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football. In addition to their professional team, FC Köln also has a highly regarded youth academy and international football school.
Residential Soccer Program
This is a unique residential pro soccer program (3-12 months) organized by German Bundesliga team 1.FC Köln for soccer players from ages 16-23 years old from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other selected countries.
Road to become a complete player
This program is designed for highly ambitious soccer players who want to become a professional player in Germany, Europe, or back in their home countries. The Football School program is also a big advantage for players seeking a college soccer scholarship in the USA.
Our goal is to improve each player, both sportively and personally, to prepare them to reach their optimum level of performance to become a professional player in a safe and secure environment while making friends and having fun with players from all around the world.
1. FC Köln Pro Soccer Training
Participants of the talent program train (5x/week 2hrs) within the professional environment of 1.FC Köln. Every training session will be led by 2-3 professional soccer coaches. In addition to that, there will be exhibition matches against German (semi) professional teams (at least 2/month). The best players have the opportunity to join trial sessions with 1. FC Köln’s U19 or U23 teams.
German Classes at the Football School
Each participant has to take German classes (3-5x/week) while participating in the football school program. Being able to speak the local language will not only increase your chance to play professional soccer, but it will also have a tremendous impact on future study and job opportunities.
When does it start?
The football school program starts year-round on July 1st, October 1st, January 3rd, and April 1st. It is possible to join the program for 3, 6, or 12 months.
We recommend to apply at least 4 weeks before your planned time of arrival.
