About me
My name is Aaron Horton. I am an American living abroad in Germany. I was born in Connecticut but grew up in Ohio, where i played for the best team in Ohio club soccer history (Ohio FC Mutiny).
When i was in high school I had to relocate to Florida to play for the USA U-17 National team which stayed at IMG Academy in Bradenton. Upon returning to Ohio for my senior high school year, I played for the Columbus Crew U-18 team and was named player of the year.After high school i chose to play soccer at the University of Louisville. As a freshman at Louisville I scored back to back game winning goals in the Elite 8 vs UCLA and against North Carolina in the final 4. Before losing to Akron in the 2010 Division 1 National Championship game in Santa Barbara, California. After my freshman season I left college soccer to sign my first professional soccer contract with the Columbus Crew as the first ever Homegrown signing in Crew history. After leaving the MLS, I decided to play internationally in different countries like Brazil, Bosnia, Luxembourg, and Germany. Upon retiring from professional soccer I was able to finish my Bachelors Degree in 2020, and decided to coach at Brown University (Ivy League) for one year. However, after all of my experiences with soccer around the world, I was offered a great opportunity to keep learning and expanding my soccer knowledge in arguably the greatest soccer country and returned to Germany where I am now coaching and helping the next generation of players and coaches fulfill their dreams. My goal is now to pass on all my knowledge and experience to give players and coaches from all levels and places around the world to succeed in the sport we all love.
