Orlando City SC added two attacking players and two defenders to its squad in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas. Our player Luis Grassow, a center back for the University of Kentucky, was chosen among the group.

Stellar College Career at the University of Kentucky

Luis Grassow came through the ranks of a German soccer youth academy. With his impressive performances in the German youth academy and in German men’s soccer, Grassow earned a scholarship to play soccer at the University of Kentucky. Grassow is 200 pounds and 6 feet tall. He spent five seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats, playing in 59 games (56 starts) and accruing 5,057 minutes. He notched six goals and five assists. Grassow participated in 21 games (all starts) during his senior year, clocking 1,757 minutes while contributing three goals and one assist.

Grassow has won numerous awards for his soccer prowess, including selection to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team, the C-USA All-Tournament Team, the C-USA Tournament Defensive MVP, and the All-C-USA First Team in 2021. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches during his senior year.
